Hi folks. So not much new. Been to the beach the last 2 days, and Montpellier greeted the 4th of July with rain. We bought some fireworks for use later tonight, and I guess there's maybe some American party tonight. When we asked today at the tourist center if there were any fireworks for tonight, we got what I would figure to be such a typically French reply: do you have fireworks in the US for the 14th of July (Bastille Day)? So why would we have it for the fourth?

Ah well. Here are some pictures that actually include people for once. Just to prove that I'm actually in Europe and not just finding postcard pictures online and starting up some lame pretending to be out of the country blog.

Here we are at the beach in Carnon. Yeah I look like an idiot. For the international flavor, there's me, the girl next to me is from California, then the next guy is English, then a Danish girl, a girl from Sweden, and a half American half German guy who lives in Nepal.

Next picture: hanging out in a cafe in centre-ville. I think mostly the same people, plus a Swiss and another Swede and minus some of the others.

I was going to put another beach picture up, but I realized it's pretty much the same damn thing as the previous beach picture.

134 new students today at the school. Only like 1.5 (2 new students, but one just switched from another class) in mine. But I do see a lot of people around that I'd never seen before. Oh well, thats how it is. Not totally sure what I'll be doing after this just yet, but if others are going to Marseille this weekend, I might just go that way and miss out on Bastille Day in France altogether. We shall see. Now I should set about doing some research on the hostels and trains, etc.

your gonna be a great ugooglizer, congrats. So it seems you've shortened your commute considerably, but now i'd guess you'll want to get a place in SF hu?

You can always tell the bank that in the spirit of independence day you've decided to write them a fuxor off letter. OH, and then get like 50 people to sign it. 'me the person, jon li, in order to get a better job....'

in more serious talk:
So you gonna bring one of the french hunnys home with you? i hear the french like americans, play that up and it should work.

Have fun, and remember, your currently having more fun than you'll ever have again.

and i can't forget, in protest of you not moving to SF, i've decided to move down to LA.
